Elizabeth “Betty” Martin, born June 11, 1913 passed away at Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown, NJ on October 16, 2012.
Born in Troy, NY, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Alwaise, Betty was a supervisor for Ferber Pen Co., in Englewood, NJ for many years when she lived in Bergen County. She moved to Toms River in 1962 and was a supervisor in Steinback Department Store in Brick. She retired to Leisure Village East in Lakewood and lived there for 22 years. She was a Communicant at the Church of Visitation Catholic Church in Brick.
Widow of John B. Martin, who died in 1971, she is the mother of the late Elizabeth Smith who died in 1958 and sister of the late Edna Labenz, Edith Murray and Frances Maloney.
She is survived by two daughters Barbara Ellen Ruzicka and her husband Frank of Stockton, Barbara Joan Trainer of Forked River, one son John K. Martin and his wife Peggy of Hannibal, NY, her sisters Nan Miller of Riverdale and Mary Duffy of Newport NC. Betty was blessed with ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and aides who took such good care of her at Country Arch Care Center where she was known by all.

Graveside services will be held Monday October 22 at 1:00 pm at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Englewood, NJ. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Rt. 179 Lambertville , NJ.
